I wanted to start a thread defining the “Quadratic Lands”, because it’s become a memetic pillar of parts of the regen web3 community.
I propose the following memetic structure;
- Quadratic Lands is a promised land where community goods are well funded with non-coercive market-based mechanisms + digital democracy reigns.
- Quadratic Lands is not a utopia (an imagined place or state of things in which everything is perfect.)
- Quadratic Lands is not a physical place. It is a memetic schelling point.
- Quadratic Lands is an economic system that is responsive to the preferences of it’s citizens. QL is an aggregation of many peoples preferences. The more people express a preference in a certain direction + magnitude, the more the Quadratic Lands responsively becomes that.
- Quadratic Funding is a vessel that takes us to The Quadratic Lands
- There will be many pluralistic vessels that take us to the Quadratic Lands. QF is just one of them. Retroactive Public Goods is another.
